What This Family Did to Make the Most Out of Quarantine
Life was happening. Business was good. The economy was good. The stock market was up, and the interest rates were down. Life. Was. Good! Then quarantine happened. Some felt more of it’s impact than others. Some have been laid off from work, some have quickly had to adapt to working from home, while others were essential and kept working business as usual (or unusual really).
For the Gerfin Family, they had 3 kids at home, their neighborhood HOA was far from opening the community pool, and with beaches and short-term rentals banned, vacation was not an option. They needed some relief. Some rest. Some time away. Time to relax, unwind, and spend time together as a family outside of their suburban home.
It was a dream of theirs to own a weekend getaway on the water, but it was looking like the time to make that dream come true needed to be right now before they drove each other crazy. With the main criteria being less than 2 hours from their home, we searched the Tennessee River from South to North to find their perfect escape. 9 riverfront properties later, it was a unanimous decision. Only one other time before, have we seen a family in such unison picking a home, and it is so fun to see!
After we navigated them through the buying process, of course, they closed on their perfect home away from home. We were able to go hang out with them this week to see how they have made it their own. Nothing compares to the way we felt hearing all their stories that will become memories, and seeing how much fun they’ve been having together.
All the fishing, catching river clams that Mom won’t allow in the house, the swimming, the cookouts, working together to safely dock the boat, and helping each other with the little lake house projects, was just what they needed. Never again will they need to worry about a quarantine or closed beaches or short-term rental bans. When the world is in chaos and divisive, they have their place of escape to give their souls a rest and help them feel, more together..
